Nothing much new happening here. Gustav and Callie are both finally not sick for once, but yesterday I had a feeling that Gustav might have an ear infection so I took him to the doctor and I was right. It was funny because I take him to the doctor when he is not sick and I could tell that the doctor was trying to make me feel good about coming but that she was pretty sure there was nothing wrong. Then she looked in his right ear - oooh! Yeah, poor boy has an ear infection. He is a tough cookie though, because the only reason I had a feeling was because he woke up 3 times the night before and cried for a couple minutes and he never wakes up at night. I felt pretty good about myself - you know being super mom and all :)
I think I have some good pictures to post so I'll get to that. Other than that life is pretty much the same!

Here it is!
I posted a couple pictures of the newest addition to our family. We bought a 2006 Honda Odyssey. Ok, I know the pictures are bad, but we just waited in line for 30 minutes to get it washed and all of us were ready to get out. I wanted to snap a picture before it got dark (and dirty).
I also switched the web site to blogger. My web space was full on Cox and I didn't want to pay for more. I'm sorry it keeps switching, but oh well. Mary Lauren, you're going to have to tell me how you save your pictures when you save your blog. I haven't done that yet with this one.
I posted some of the best pitures of the kids and some more from last weekend.

The Post I Created on the Way Home
I am sitting in the passenger seat of our new Honda Odyssey. We are returning from the Atlanta area where we visited Gus’ family this weekend, and I actually let him drive on the way home. I, of course, drove all the way there on Saturday because I wanted to drive the new minivan and because I’m a bit of a control freak – or maybe Gus has been in too many accidents since I’ve known him. Either way, the Odyssey is AWESOME. It’s like driving a luxury vehicle that seats 8 people. I could go on and on about the neat features of the minivan, but Gus and I wore that one out when we sat in the back seat drinking wine (white of course swouldn'touldn’t stain if we spilled) the night we bought it and talking about all the neat features.
We had a great time visiting GusÂ’ family. Gustav got to see some of his cousins for the first time and Callie got to play with Will, Matthew, and Caitlin a bit. We almost had the whole gang there. Stephen, Jenni (and baby Will), Mary Lauren (and Matthew and Caitlin), Andree and Tim were all there. Callie did great sleeping on a mattress on the floor in a new environment. The first night was a little challenging and she was scared, but the second night she fell asleep without us in the room. She woke up both nights around 1:00 am and I went into the room and slept with her for the rest of the night. Grandma and Aunt Mary Lauren bought her a Strawberry Shortcake blanket and night light so she would have something fun to sleep with and she LOVED them! We brought the blanket home and IÂ’m going to keep it as our special travel blanket.
Gustav was perfect as usual and slept like a champ at night and charmed everyone during the day. What a sweet baby he is! So far, both kids have been perfect on the trip. I have to go say a prayer that it continues! Enjoy the pictures.
UPDATE: Both kids did great on the trip to Georgia. I am so proud of both of them because I can definitely say it was a long trip! It took us 9 hours on the way there and 8 on the way home, which is funny because we stopped about 4 times on the way home and only twice on the way there. It snowed a lot on the way there and we got stoppaccidentsaccients - oh wait, who am I kidding! Gus drove on the way home and I'm sure the speed limit signs didn't come into consideration! Anyway, we had a really fun time on our first road trip in the 'NEW car' as Callie calls it. I promise I'll post a picture as soon as I get it cleaned. It is so dirty from the trip.
On to other news... I got a JOB! I will be teaching aerobics at the BAC. I actually haven't accepted the position yet, I'm waiting until the rest of the world wakes up to call and accept. The pay was great, plus I get a free membership and the schedule is so flexible. I can work whichever days I choose and only have to let them know on the Thursday before the next week.
Last note (I promise). It has come to my attention (from several people) that my blog was a little slanted (in Callie's favor) for a while. I feel really bad about it, but now that Gustav is doing so much more it should be a little more equal. So Gustav, when you're reading this in 20 years, please know that you are loved so much! You are the best baby and that's probably why I didn't have much to say. I couldn't ask for a more precious child!! By the way ever since we got back from Georgia he has been in the best mood! He is so energetic and happy. I took lots of pictures over the last week so I'm going to try to pick the best and post them. Bye!

As I sit here watching Strawberry Shortcake for the 100th time since I bought it about 2 weeks ago, I realized that I never mentioned how much Callie loves 'babrys cake!' I bought it for her when she was sick and we were at CVS looking for a humidifier. I went to the DVD rack and let her pick something out. She picked Strawberry Shortcake and carried it all over the store and handed it to the checkout lady and everything. She now requests to watch it all the time over and over again (hence her new nickname, Rain Man) and I have to set limits - half of the movie in the morning (while I enjoy my coffee) and the other half in the afternoon when she is bored and I am feeding Gustav.
The other news is that we woke up this morning and Clyde had moved!! Apparently someone moved him to our front porch between 9 pm and 6:30 am this morning. Weird. Who does things like that? I would go out and take a picture, but I'm still in my jammies and the workmen are next door. He will definitely melt today because it gets really hot on the front porch and the temperature is supposed to be like 60 degrees today.
Gustav is sick again. boo hoo. Poor boy. I am tempted to take him to the pediatrician, but he is sleeping and eating well and he doesn't have a fever. He is just so congested and coughs a lot. Poor little guy. I took him to the nursery at the BAC last night and told them he was a little sick (basically just to deal with it). My theory is that he's getting sick at the BAC, so they can watch him if he has a little cold. They didn't seem to mind.
One more bit of news... I have an interview for a job on Tuesday. I applied to work at the BAC teaching aerobics (I have experience because I taught in tampa). They are kind of desperate for help because some of the instructors are leaving so the manager asked me if I was interested. We'll see how it goes. Wish me luck because I haven't taught aerobics since getting pregnant with Callie.
Gotta go!

SNOW!
I know I posted a ton of pictures this time, but the snow was so fun! We got 4 inches to be exact (Gus measured it with a ruler).
*Warning* I am about to make fun of my husband, but only because I love him!
Gus has never lived in an area where there is snow that 'sticks.' Well this last snowstorm was 'the perfect snow.' It was so beautiful and lasted all day and the roads were so warm, that it never stuck on the roads. Sometime in the middle of the day we decided to make a ''no-man' as Callie calls it. Gus, having never made a real snowman began packing a little mound of snow and patting it with his hands. I (being the loving wife that I am) began laughing at him and said, 'just start rolling it!' His eyes got so big as the 'no-ball' soon became a GIANT 'no-ball, and eventually became 'Clyde.' Gus yells with delight "I thought you could only do this in the movies!" After we made Clyde it continued to snow and Gus kept going back outside to groom Clyde because the snow kept covering his charcoal eyes :) It was really cute.
Callie, of course loved playing in the snow and unfortunately Gustav didn't get to enjoy this one. Maybe when he can sit on his own so I can play too :)
Speaking of Gustav, it is worth mentioning that he is a really cuddly baby. He loves to be held and will tuck his little head under your chin and just enjoy the attention. He is getting so active and has started rolling over and sleeping on his stomach. The only problem is that he sometimes wakes up at night on his tummy and gets frustrated so we have to go in there and roll him back over. He eats a TON of food and loves rice cereal with fruit mixed in it (something Callie would NEVER eat, she hated the fruit mixed in). I don't know where he puts all the food because his arms and legs are so skinny! He eats 4 times per day and has LOTS of solids (fruits, vegies and rice cereal) 3 times and just nurses right before bed. He is still sleeping 12 hours!
Gus and I got to go out to a really fancy restaurant with 2 other couples on Saturday night. Unfortunately, our babysitter canceled on Saturday morning (because of the snow) and I called around all day and finally found a babysitter that turned out to be great. The only bad thing is that she's a senior at Hollins University so she'll be gone in May. There are a lot of benefits to living less than 5 minutes from a private all-girls college!

Oops!
If you recently checked my blog and saw a picture of me, I didn't mean to post a picture of myself, I was experimenting and forgot to delete it. Oops.
I haven't decided which pictures to post yet, but I'm pretty sure they will appear above this writing. I know I am going to post the one that will incriminate my husband (he'll call it nagging), but if you know Gus, it won't be a surprise. Just ask his Dad about how well he puts tools away:)
Callie, Gustav and I went to a Valentine playgroup yesterday and I am presently eating Callie's goodie bag (don't tell her:)) I always rationalize this by saying "at least I'm saving her from eating junk food." Plus, I love those sugary hearts with the sayings on them and they're probably a choking hazard anyway.
I am still having severe neck and shoulder pain on my left side. It started last Thursday, so it's been an entire week. I am having trouble sleeping because I'm in so much pain and I keep having to take advil just to reduce it enough so I am not screaming. I've noticed that holding the kids and nursing also make it worse, so if anyone wants to come visit and help me that would be great :) I finally got a doctor's appointment for next week. I hope that making the appointment will cause it to get better so I won't have to actually go.
I know this is a boring one, but there's not too much news here. Oh wait! I just remembered! Gus ordered Callie (and Gustav when he's old enough) one of those plastic slides. It is so cool and Callie loves it! We have it set up in the basement until it gets warmer outside. We just showed it to her for the first time last night and she woke up early this morning saying 'slide' over and over (and over and over) through breakfast until I finally brought her down there for a few slides. Being Rain Man gets her some things. I'll try to take a picture later and post it.

Where do all my posts go?
I typed and published a post on Saturday called 'Rolling over and Potty Training' and it was there for an hour and then it just dissapeared! What the heck?! I also posted a bunch of pictures, four of which I had to re-post. Weird. I've been too busy to re-post until now.
The biggest news with Gustav is rolling over both ways. He doesn't do it much when he's tired, but the rest of the time he will. He's so cute!
The other news is that I started potty training Callie on Thursday. The most recent news is that I stopped potty training Callie on Saturday. I've decided that although she had all the 'signs' of being ready, she definitely wasn't. Without getting into too many details, Callie went to the potty every time she had to go, but was too afraid to actually go most of the time. Instead of taking a relaxed approach, I decided to forget it all happened and try again in a couple months. I still don't know how my friend Andrea trained Hannah when she was 20 months! That's amazing to me.
I'm having a babies and waddlers playgroup here tomorrow. So far there are only 2 people coming so hopefully it will be fun and not crazy. That's all the news here. I'm going to try to post a picture of Callie's pigtails. Hopefully it won't delete this one!

Gustav
Gustav and I are having some Mommy-baby time this morning. Poor thing has been so sick and he finally seems a little better today. Although, Gus was worried about his cough last night, I think he's actually getting better. I was worried last night before bed because he wasn't hungry and his last full feeding was at 3 pm. I didn't think it was good for him to go from 3 pm until 7 am with only a little 7pm nursing that was only about 3 minutes, but he did fine. I actually heard him talking at 6:30 this morning so I went in and got him and he was laying on his side with a huge grin on his face. What a cutie-pie! I posted some pics from this morning with captions that will embarrass him when he is a teenager, but I couldn't help it. :) I never know where or when the pictures will post, so sometimes they are in a weird order with the writing. I try to post the pictures below the writing, but I don't have much control over that.
Yesterday we went to a playgroup at Andrea's and I put Gustav down for a nap with David (not in the same bed because he is sick) and Andrea went in there to check on them and Gustav had rolled all the way over on to his stomach!! It was so cute! He now likes sleeping almost rolled over, but mostly on his side.
Since this is the 'Gustav' post, I'll finish with a little more about him. He is such an incredibly good baby. He's mellow, but active (except when he's sick). He doesn't demand attention, but truely enjoys it. We have to remember to give him a lot of attention with his hammy sister around:) He completely ADORES Callie and she adores him and whenever she's in the room, his attention is towards her. He never cries for long periods of time and he is great at calming himself down. Basically, I have two perfect children. HA! I do adore them though. Enjoy the pictures!
