I actually typed a couple paragraphs when I posted the latest pictures, but somehow it all got lost! I can pretty much tell who looked at the blog because you emailed or called me about Callie. :)
She's fine, but I rushed her to the ER with a 107 degree fever and she was unresponsive. She was acting weird all morning and I thought she was just tired or something. Then, I took her to the nursery at the BAC and went to aerobics class. When I went to ppick her up they told me she had been sleeping, which is VERY UNUSUAL for her. When I held her she felt really hot and immediately fell asleep on the way home and when I tried yelling her name she wouldn't wake up. As soon as I got home I ran inside and got the thermometer and took her temperature while she was asleep in the car. The first reading was 107.2 and the second was 107.0! I freaked out and luckily Andrea was coming over and was right there. I told her to take Gustav out of the car and I drove to the ER like a mad woman (I ran 2 stop lights and passed someone in a no passing zone). When I got there she finally woke up when I picked her up, but I wasted no time and bypassed all the check in stuff and told someone what had happened. They took her in immediately and took her temperature and it was only 102.9! I have never had trouble with the thermometer before and they Dr. said that not being able to wake her up was indicitave of an extremely high fever, but no one knows what happened. They took blood and urine samples and gave her a chet x-ray and all was normal. They gave her motrin, which brought the fever down to 101.9 and she was awake. By that evening, she was FINE! I kept her on motrin and tylenol and her fever was gone by the next morning. I guess it's just one of those weird childhood quandries :)
Gustav now has 4 teeth! Yeah! He also just finished taking an antibiotic for a double ear infection :( I wondered why he kept screaming every time I laid him down to change his diaper :) He is pulling up on everything and trying to take steps while holding on to things. He shows no interest in walking on his own, most likely because he can crawl at lightening speed!
That's all I have time for. I have two stinky diapers to change and dinner to prepare. I'll try to write more later!
Well, I guess this is the fourth edition of this blog. It all began in March of 2004 when I was pregnant with Callie. Wow! So much has happened since then! As always, this blog is for my kids to read when they get older and for my family who lives so far away. I hope you get a chance to watch the kids grow up.
