Wow! Someone sure is lucky to be 2!! That's the kitchen set we got her with Gus' spirit award points from the bank!

Another present!

Some of Callie's presents!

Callie's Almost 2!

These last blogs have a lot about Callie because she's almost 2!! Since I'm going to be in Chicago with the kids for Callie's birthday and Gus will be in Florida fishing, we decided to celebrate her birthday a week early!! It was a lot of fun for all of us - especially Callie. She got a ton of presents some of which you will see in the pictures! We bought her a car, a sticker book, a play wagon, some strawberry shortcake video's (new ones so I won't go insane watching the same one over and over!) and probably the best present a kitchen set!! It is temporarily set up in our kitchen and she loves it! We didn't think the kitchen set would show up in time so we took her to Toys R Us and let her pick out something. We ended up with the car but she really wanted a strawberry shortcake doll. Oh, well sometimes mommy and daddy buy what they like for her :)

This is going to be quick because I'm headed out to run some errands before I go out with my friends tonight. Can you say "moms night out!" Ok, this is my first one so I'll let you know how it goes.

The choke hold (also known as a hug)- Gustav doesn't seem to mind...

Sharing her birthday present!

The other attendee at her birthday party, unfortunately he wasn't able to have any cake.

Just Pictures!

It's been a while since I posted and it's been an eventful week and weekend. I posted a ton of pics and have more for tomorrow! Enjoy!

Our kite in action!

She got to fly our cool bird kite with Daddy. It was very exciting because Gus dive-bombed the bird into several other kites - he even managed to get tangeled with one of the HUGE kites!

Callie got cotton candy and a free t-shirt at the kite festival!

We took the kids to a kite festival here in Roanoke! It was so neat! Callie was a bit scared of the kites.

Another shot! Oh boy! That one's gonna hurt!

After a little crying one day, he fell asleep like this!!

Gustav is learning to drink from a sippy cup!

Gustav's rendition of the easter egg hunt. He loves to eat the easter eggs (and everything else for that matter!)

Callie borrowed Hannah's shawl while she had her cast on! Here she is back at home showing off her face paint and easter egg!

Quick Update!

Just a quick update about Callie's arm. I took her to the orthopedic specialist because she still wasn't using it on Wednesday. Her arm is fine, but really sore and the doctor put a 'sling' on her arm. It's this huge cast-like thing that she can't take off for a week. I still haven't given her a bath! I keep having to fix it because she keeps messing the ace bandage part up! Anyway, luckily she'll be fine and she doesn't seem to mind the sling. It actually gives her more confidence to be crazy because she can't move it and make it hurt!

Gotta go!

Callie's monstrosity! They practially put a cast on her arm! Luckily she only has to have it for a week!

Callie and Hannah playing outside!

Doesn't he have the cutest smile! David is on left, Gustav on right.

That's Gustav's sweet little face. He and David are starting to play next to eachother!

This one's for you honey...

I'm sitting here sipping a martini (it's GG night) and Callie is being totally insane. I try telling her it's her special quiet time with Mommy before bed time but, well you know, she has so much energy all the time - she's now under her table. I miss you! What's up with that last phone call? I put Callie on the phone and now I can't get ahold of you. Don't forget to leave me the number at your hotel room.

I'll try to recap the day for you:
Woke up to two crying children. Callie still won't use her arm, although I think it's mostly mental. I've seen her put pressure on it when she's distracted, but she's mostly favoring it. I have an appointment with the orthopedic specialist tomorrow morning, but that means I have to skip bodystep BOO HOO!

Went to Body Attack and was totally attacked! I can still hardly move. Plus, they video taped the class for the instructor's cerification so I felt stupid the whole time. On top of that Michelle kept hiding behind me so I had to be in the camera. It was a good workout though. I look forward to friday (lunch and margaritas with my gym friends:))

The babies took good naps but Callie woke up and cried until I went in there and got her. She won't use her arm to get up so she just lays there crying and saying "get" (ie. get me up!). Callie had her snack then Gustav woke up and I fed him his dinner and we dropped off your dry cleaning, literally ALL your clothes. I hope I remember to pick them up tomorrow or you will have to go to work naked on Thursday.

I dropped off the movie and got a pizza for my GG night! Just the right thing after my workout :) Then we got home and I took the pictures you see at the bottom of this post while insane Callie ran as fast as she could all over the kitchen while Gustav screamed with delight. Then they both screamed for about the next 30 minutes while I made Callie's dinner. I made her tri-colored pasta and she ate all but the green (spinach) ones. Then I nursed Gustav and tried to put him to bed 15 minutes early - he screamed the whole 15 minutes and is just now calming down.

Callie has just about had it with my typing so I am going to end special Callie-Mommy time with one last book then it's off to bed for her!! I can then cook my pizza and settle down to GG!!! yeah! I love you! Just remember, I won't answer the phone from 8-9pm. Call me when you get back to your room!

AWWWW! I told you this story right? He wasn't anywhere near Eeyore when I put him in the crib...

Hi Daddy!!

Both of them are screaming at the top of their lungs!

Can't you just hear her screaming at Tiger?

Pointing at something (you know, a daily occurance!)

Huh? Where's Callie!?

Showing me dolly!

This is Callie kissing you good-night!

I'm back

Gus decided to work from home today so he's sitting with Callie while she has her snack. That means I get a few minutes to update the blog!

Now that I have time I don't really know what to say! Let's see...

Gustav is sitting up really well now. He doesn't really care about crawling though. When I put him on his hands and knees he just sits there for a minute looking at me like "what the heck, Mom!" and then plops back down on his tummy and rolls around! He's a little noodle too. His arms are so flexible that he just rolls over them and stops in these funny positions. He's a good eater and loves to play in his playpen - something Callie was never really fond of. He probably feels safe because his sister can't attack him or steal his toys away from him in there! They really love eachother though!

Emergency room...again

We have been to the emergency room so many times that I actually recognized one of the guys in triage. She was playing with Daddy again and 'hurt' her arm. I put hurt in quotes because she said that about 18 zillion times between last night and this afternoon. Gus was swinging her around outside yesterday after dinner (it's been in the 70's for a couple days now) and she dislocated her elbow again (the first time I was holding her hand and she twisted away from me). They call it nursemaid's elbow and it only takes a second to fix - just a good twist of the arm and a loud scream from the child. This time, we thought it was her wrist so we waited until this morning to take her in so we wouldn't have to be there at night. Unfortunately it was probably out of socket all night so it was sore when they popped it back in. They gave her a sling to wear and she wasn't using her arm so we were supposed to see the orthopedic doctor in a couple days, but when we got home she got on her bicycle and was using her arm just fine, so we don't have to take her in. One of the nurses gave her a popcicle and she never had one before, so she thought it was ice cream. Ok, enough about that!

I posted some pictures, but Callie is waking up from her nap so I have to get going. I'll try to write more later!

Well, it couldn't have been that bad :)

Hurt her arm...

Had too much fun playing...

Poor Callie...

Just holding my spoon and bouncing!

Sitting at the table like a big boy!

What? Do I have something on my face?
