I just had to post a picture of the turkey Gabe made this morning. He has always been a good little artist, but this was especially awesome :)
Well, I guess this is the fourth edition of this blog. It all began in March of 2004 when I was pregnant with Callie. Wow! So much has happened since then! As always, this blog is for my kids to read when they get older and for my family who lives so far away. I hope you get a chance to watch the kids grow up.

Quick Update
I have a couple updates for Callie and Gustav, but I need to find a few extra minutes to put it together. In the meantime, here are a few pictures of recent happenings:
Gustav and Gabe both patiently waited for Callie’s ballet class during parent observation week.
It is still cold here. The snow from Sunday is not completely melted. I’m so ready for warm weather! At least the kids had fun playing in (hopefully) the last snow of the year. I think this was a record snowfall year for Roanoke.
Pics of Damien net time!
Bye!

Bear
Wait, not Bear. Bear Bear.
Here’s his mug shot.
Bear was born some time in 2010. I honestly can’t remember exactly when that year Nonna gave the 3 oldest kids each a white bear. But, at the time, we were still trying to get Gabe to like tigger. Since Callie had piglet and Gustav had eeyore, it was only natural that Gabe should have tigger. He NEVER liked tigger. No matter how many times we tried to get him to.
Then, in walks Bear Bear. Here are a couple of the earliest pics of Gabe and Bear Bear.
December 2010
January 2011, October 2010
There was a short stint when he adopted all 3 of the bears, however there was never any doubt which one was Bear Bear. You could hold all 3 up to him and he would immediately be able to pick out Bear Bear. It was during the summer of 2011, when we nicknamed Gabe Goldilocks (and the 3 bears) because of his curly, bleach-blonde hair.
We also tested out “Scout” for a bit. Unfortunately, he never held a candle to Bear Bear.
Soon, though, he discarded the other 2 bears and he and Bear Bear became best buds. You get the picture.
Now, fast forward to last summer. Gabe and Bear Bear even made it into the National Enquirer with Daddy.
Now, when Gabe has to play “alone”, he and Bear Bear will sometimes play board games together. But, mostly, the just go everywhere together.
Elderberries, the doctor… and we even show our little brother how to care for bears…
We now realize the importance of Bear Bear in Gabe’s life so we take things a little more seriously these days…
Snow! On March 23rd.
Not exactly the spring weather I was hoping for. At least the kids are enjoying it! Damien is napping, I think I will join him...

Too Windy
![]() |
| We atttempted to fly the new kites Nonna and Nonno got them for Christmas, but it was actually TOO windy! The winds were gusty and all over the place so after a couple attempts and almost breaking both Callie's and my hands, we gave up. Maybe another day! Happy 1st Day of Spring!! |

Look who is getting big?
Too big, if you ask me! 17 months old - where did the time go? Speaking of "go" he is in on of my favorite phases right now. As we are getting dressed in the morning, I keep his feet hidden in his pants and Damien says "go?" (Complete with hand gesture). Then we pop his foot through and he says "dere it is!"
